Oak Creek Canyon
Oak Creek Canyon is a scenic 14 mile stretch along Oak Creek north of Sedona. It is sometimes referred to as a cousin of the Grand Canyon because of its scenic beauty. The saying goes, “God made the Grand Canyon, but lives in Sedona!” The beauty of the towering canyon walls and greenery of Oak Creek attract thousands of visitors each year. Slide Rock State Park, a natural water-slide, is a big summer attraction. Visitors enjoy great trout fishing and camping; and top hiking trails, such as West Fork Trail. Highway 89A along Oak Creek Canyon offers visitors one of the most scenic drives in the country.
